Oregon wine promoters Elaine Cohen and Richard Hopkins gathered this collection of marketing materials representing the wine and spirits industry in its formative years. Biographical Note

Elaine Cohen and Richard Hopkins founded the Oregon Wine Press magazine in 1984. Both actively promoted the wine industry in Oregon through publishing and involvement in organizations such as the Oregon Winegrowers Association, where Hopkins served as director and Cohen as executive secretary. Cohen was also a founder of the Oregon chapter of Women for WineSense in 1992, and received the Outstanding Service Award from the Oregon Wine Board in 1990.

Content Description

This collection was gathered by Elaine Cohen and Richard Hopkins, founders of the Oregon Wine Press magazine. The collection consists of wine bottle labels, posters, and other marketing materials relating to the wine and spirits industry in Oregon. It represents all the state's major wine-producing areas, especially the Willamette and Umpqua River valleys, and includes materials marketing specific products as well as wineries, distilleries, and the wine industry in general.
